Marketing Automation, Built by Engineers
We build six automation systems for local businesses: missed-call text-back, booking funnels, review automation, database reactivation, AI conversation agents, and CRM pipelines. Each is small enough to go live inside a three-to-five working day window we put in writing, with A2P registration handled so your texts actually reach a phone.
// In short
What Is Marketing Automation for Local Businesses?
Marketing automation for local businesses means wiring your phone, calendar, and customer list together so follow-up happens without anyone remembering to do it. A missed call fires a text. A booked job fires a reminder. A finished job asks for the review.
The point is not more leads. It is not losing the ones you already paid for, which is why the work starts at the missed call and the carrier registration that decides whether your texts arrive at all. You can take one system or the set, and you watch it fire on your own account before you pay.

// The problem
The Leads You Already Paid For Are Leaking Out
Most local businesses do not have a lead problem. They have a follow-up problem. The call comes in while you are on a job, the quote goes out and is never chased, the review is never asked for, and the old customer list sits untouched. Every one of those is money you already spent to earn.
The missed call that never calls back
You are under a sink or up a ladder. It rings out, goes to voicemail, and the caller has dialled the next name on the list before you are free.
The quote that goes quiet
You send the number and hear nothing. Not because they said no, but because nobody followed up and a competitor did.
The reviews you never asked for
The job went well and the moment passed. Your map ranking depends on the reviews you are not collecting.
// How it works
How Does Missed-Call Text-Back Actually Work?
Your business number forwards to the platform before it forwards to voicemail. When a call ends without being answered, that event triggers an SMS back to the number that just rang, from your business number, while the caller still has the phone in their hand.
Why about a minute, not instantly
A short delay is deliberate. Fire the text the same second the call drops and it arrives while the caller is still listening to your voicemail greeting, which reads as a machine. It also gives you a window to pick up and call back yourself, in which case the automation stands down rather than talking over you.
The reply lands with a person
When the caller texts back, the thread appears in one inbox on your phone, not in a dashboard nobody opens. Anyone on the team can answer it. The conversation stays attached to the contact record, so the next person to pick it up can see what was already said.
When it should not fire
Not to a number that already texted this week, not to a withheld or landline number that cannot receive SMS, and not at three in the morning unless you run emergency call-outs. Those rules are set with you during the build, because getting them wrong is how a helpful system turns into a nuisance.
Opt-out is built in, not bolted on
STOP has to work, and it has to work on the first message. Carriers treat it as a hard requirement and so do we: a reply of STOP removes that contact from further automated messages without anyone having to remember to action it.

Six Systems That Close the Gaps
Take one, or take the set. Each is scoped and priced on its own.
01.
Missed-call text-back
The call rings and rings, and within about a minute the caller gets a text from your number asking what they need. The conversation carries on by SMS while you finish the job you are already on. The mechanics are above.
02.
Booking funnel
A quote or booking page wired straight into the CRM, so an inquiry lands as a real record with a stage, not as an email you meant to reply to. Works on a phone, because that is where it will be used. If the page itself needs rebuilding, that is website design work.
03.
Review automation
The job closes, the customer gets a text asking for a Google review, and the link goes straight to the review box. More reviews lift your map ranking, which is the cheapest lead source you have.
04.
Database reactivation
You already paid to get those old leads. A targeted campaign works back through the ones that went quiet and restarts the conversation. It is the cheapest revenue in the building because the acquisition cost is already sunk.
05.
AI conversation agent
A bot that answers the common questions, works out whether the lead is worth your time, and books them in. It runs at 11pm on a Sunday. We set the guardrails so it hands over to a human when it should.
06.
CRM and pipeline setup
Custom fields that match how you actually quote, opportunity stages that match how you actually sell, and a dashboard that tells you what is stuck. Built around your process, not a template’s idea of it.
// The part that decides everything
What Is A2P 10DLC, and Why Does It Decide Whether Any of This Works?
A2P 10DLC is the registration US carriers require before a business can send application-to-person texts from a standard ten-digit local number. Register, and your messages are delivered. Skip it, and they are filtered at the carrier: the message leaves your system, reports as sent, and never arrives.
That is the detail that makes this section worth reading. There is no bounce, no error, and no warning. Your dashboard shows a tidy column of sent messages, and the only symptom is that nobody replies. Businesses lose months to it, and usually conclude that texting does not work for their trade.
Brand, then campaign
Two registrations, in order. The brand identifies the business, using your legal name and tax ID exactly as they appear on file. The campaign describes what you will send and why someone agreed to receive it. A mismatch between the two is the most common reason a registration comes back rejected.
Consent has to be real
The campaign has to say how people opted in, and the answer has to match what your forms and your booking page actually do. This is why the registration and the build get done together: wiring a form that collects consent properly is part of the same job as registering the campaign that relies on it.
Your number, kept
Registration attaches to the number you already advertise, so customers see the number on your van and your Google listing rather than an unfamiliar one. Texting from a number nobody recognises costs you the reply you were trying to earn.
We do the paperwork
You give us the business details once. We file the brand and campaign, deal with a rejection if one comes back, and do not hand you the system until messages are actually landing. It is the least interesting part of the build and the one that decides whether the rest of it does anything.

// Staying inside the rules
What Keeps Automated Texting Compliant?
Getting registered is one half. How the messages behave once they are flowing is the other, and it is the half that gets a campaign suspended when it goes wrong. These are the rules we build in by default, before anyone asks.
None of this is legal advice, and we are not your lawyer. It is how we configure the system, and where the line sits between what we build and what stays yours to decide.
Who you are, on the first message
The first automated message a contact receives identifies the business by name, so nobody is left working out who is texting them. It costs a few characters and it is the difference between a reply and a spam report, which is the thing carriers actually watch.
STOP, honoured automatically
A reply of STOP removes that contact from automated messaging at once, without anyone having to notice it and action it. We test it as part of the handover, because an opt-out that quietly fails is the single fastest way to lose a registered campaign.
Quiet hours, set to your trade
Marketing messages hold until a sensible hour in the contact’s own time zone. Emergency call-out work is the exception we configure differently, because a burst pipe at midnight is not a marketing message and should not be treated as one.
A record of how each contact opted in
The forms and booking pages we wire up store when and how someone agreed to be contacted, against their record. If a complaint ever arrives, the answer is a lookup rather than a guess, and it is the same evidence the campaign registration was approved on.
Replying to a call is not cold outreach
Texting back somebody who just rang you is a response to their own contact, which is why missed-call text-back sits on very different ground from a bought list. We will not build the second one, and the exclusions below say so plainly.
What stays yours
You decide who goes into the system and what you promise them. We build the rails, test that they hold, and tell you when something you have asked for would put the registration at risk. Deciding to send it anyway is not a call we make for you.
// What changes
What You Get Once It Is Running
The systems are the how. This is the what: the handful of things that change in the business the week it goes live.
Every call gets answered
Even the ones you miss. An automatic text goes out in about a minute, and the conversation carries on while your hands are full.
Quotes chase themselves
The follow-up sequence runs on its own, so the jobs you already quoted stop slipping away to whoever replied second.
Reviews arrive on their own
The ask goes out the moment a job is marked done, straight to the review box. More reviews, better map ranking, more calls.
One platform, one bill
The CRM, texting, booking, email, and reviews live in one place that already knows about itself, instead of five tools you reconcile by hand.
// Compare
An All-in-One System vs a Generic CRM vs Doing It Manually
| What happens | Built by us | Generic CRM | Doing it manually |
|---|---|---|---|
| A missed call gets a reply | Automatic, about 60 seconds | Only if you build it yourself | When you next check voicemail |
| Two-way SMS from your number | Yes, and A2P registered | Usually an add-on | From your personal phone |
| Customer books without calling | Yes, straight into the calendar | Sometimes, rarely wired up | No |
| The quote you sent gets chased | Automatic sequence | A task you have to remember | If you remember |
| Review asked for after the job | Automatic text with a direct link | Manual | Almost never happens |
| Old leads get re-engaged | Reactivation campaign | Export and hope | No |
| It runs while you are on a job | Yes | Partly | No |
| Time to get running | A three-to-five working day window, in writing | Weeks, plus a consultant | Already running, badly |
Generic CRM here means a general sales CRM without SMS and booking wired in. Plenty of them are good software. They are just not built for a business that wins jobs on the phone.

Check Your Own Follow-Up in Ten Minutes
You do not need us to find out whether you have this problem. Four tests, a spare phone, and about ten minutes. Do them before you book any audit, ours included.
Ring your own number and let it go
Call your business line from a phone that is not in your contacts and let it ring out. Then put the phone down and wait. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, that is exactly what every customer who called while you were busy has experienced.
Send yourself a text from the system
If you already have a texting tool, send one to a phone on a different carrier than your own. Not your own handset, which often gets messages other people never see. If it does not arrive but the dashboard says sent, you have an A2P registration problem, not a software problem.
Count last month’s unchased quotes
Open wherever your quotes live and count the ones from last month that got no second contact. Multiply by your average job value. That number is what the follow-up gap costs you monthly, and it is usually the one that settles the argument about whether this is worth fixing.
Check your last ten finished jobs
How many were asked for a review? Compare that with how many reviews you actually received. The gap between the two is not a customer-satisfaction problem, it is an asking problem, and asking is the part a system does reliably and a busy person does not.
Found a gap in one of those four? Book the free audit and we will price the fix before you commit to anything.
// How it runs
From Audit to Live in a Short, Written Window
1
Free audit, 30 minutes
We walk your call flow, your quotes, and your follow-up, and hand you a plain list of where leads are leaking and what it is worth. Yours to keep either way.
2
We build it, A2P and all
Scope agreed in writing, then we build, including the carrier registration that decides whether your texts arrive or vanish silently. You never have to think about it.
3
You watch it fire, then approve
Before you pay, we send a screen recording of the system working end to end on your own account. If it does not do what we said, it is not done.
What this does not include
- Buying you a contact list, or texting anyone who did not give you their number. Both are how a registered campaign gets shut down.
- A guaranteed number of extra jobs. We can commit to the build and the date it lands, not to what your market does next month.
- Answering the texts for you. The system starts the conversation and routes it, and a human on your side still closes the job.
- The platform subscription itself, or the per-message carrier fees. Those are billed by the platform, and we will tell you the range before you decide.
- Running your ads. If the problem is that nothing is coming in at all, that is Google Ads or SEO work, and automation will not fix an empty pipeline.
// The difference
Why Trust Us With the Wiring
Anyone can turn on a template. These are where builds quietly fail, and they are the reason we exist.
A2P 10DLC registration
US carriers block unregistered business texting. Not throttle, not spam-folder. The message leaves your system, reports as sent, and never lands. We register the brand and campaign so the follow-up you paid for reaches a phone.
Webhooks and custom code
The stock features run out fast once your process is specific. We write the webhook or the script that covers the gap, instead of telling you the platform cannot do it. When the gap is bigger than a script, that becomes custom software.
API integration
Your accounting, your scheduling, your existing tools. We connect them so a booked job updates everything at once, rather than someone retyping it into three systems at the end of the day.
Recorded proof
Before you pay, you get a screen recording of the system firing end to end on your own account. If it does not do what we said it would, it is not finished.
No numbers we cannot show you
You will not find a percentage lift or a client logo wall on this page, because we are not going to publish figures earned by somebody else’s business. What we will show you is your own system working, before you pay for it.
The account can be yours
Hold your own platform account and the build lives somewhere we cannot switch off. We will tell you when that is worth the higher monthly cost and when it is not, rather than defaulting to whichever answer suits us.
// Who it’s for
Who These Systems Are Built For
Any business that wins jobs on the phone and loses them to a slow reply, anywhere in the United States. The wedge is always the same: answer first, follow up without fail.
Home services
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing. Won on being first to answer, which is exactly what missed-call text-back and instant booking do for you.
Trades and contractors
Bigger quotes, longer decisions. The automatic follow-up keeps a warm quote from going cold while you are on site.
Clinics and med spas
Bookings, reminders, and reactivation. Fewer no-shows and a polite nudge that fills the diary without a receptionist chained to the phone.
Operations-heavy SMEs
Distributors and service firms drowning in inbound. The CRM and pipeline setup turns a flooded inbox into records with a stage and an owner.
// FAQ
Marketing Automation FAQ
Do I need my own software account?
You can use ours or hold your own. Holding your own costs more per month but the account is yours outright, which matters if you ever want to leave. We will tell you which makes sense for your volume rather than defaulting to the one that pays us more.
What is A2P 10DLC and do I really need it?
It is the registration US carriers require before a business can text customers from a standard number. Without it your messages are blocked at the carrier. They do not bounce and they do not warn you, so most people discover the problem by wondering why nobody replies. There is a fuller explanation further up this page.
Will the AI agent sound like a robot to my customers?
It sounds like a fast, polite text reply, because that is what it is. We keep it narrow: answer the common questions, qualify, book. When a conversation goes outside those rails it hands over to you rather than improvising. Narrow bots are the ones that do not embarrass you.
What does it cost?
It depends on which systems you need, so we quote after the audit call rather than guessing in public. A single automation is a fixed price once scoped. Management is optional and monthly. You get the number in writing before anything is built, and the audit itself is free. The platform subscription and carrier message fees are billed separately by the platform, and we tell you that range up front.
What happens if I want to stop?
Management is month to month, so you stop when you like. The build is yours. If the account is in your name, everything simply stays where it is. If it is on ours, we migrate it out. There is no exit fee and no hostage-taking.
Can you work with the tools I already use?
Usually. If it has an API, we can connect it. If it does not, we will say so plainly instead of promising an integration that turns into a manual export. Tell us what you run on the audit call and we will confirm before anyone signs anything.
How much of my time does this take?
About two hours total. Thirty minutes on the audit, an hour describing how your business actually quotes and books, and a short call to watch the recording and approve. The wiring is our problem, and we cannot answer the process questions for you.
Will an automatic text annoy my customers?
A reply to a call they just made is the opposite of a cold text: they were the one trying to reach you. What annoys people is volume and irrelevance, so the rules are set narrow during the build. One message per missed call, nothing to a number that already heard from you this week, quiet hours respected, and STOP working from the first message.
Do I keep my existing phone number?
Yes. The number on your van and your Google listing is the one that should be texting people, so we register that number rather than issuing a new one. Calls keep ringing your phone exactly as they do now. The only change is that an unanswered one now triggers a text instead of silence.
What if I already use a CRM I do not want to replace?
Then we integrate rather than migrate, if it has an API. Plenty of businesses keep their existing system as the record of truth and use this for the phone-and-text layer it does not cover. We will tell you honestly on the audit call whether connecting the two is cheaper than consolidating them.
How is this different from the automation my ads agency offers?
Most of it is the same template with your logo on it, which is fine until your process needs something the template does not do. We write the webhook or the code at that point rather than telling you it is not possible, and we do the carrier registration properly instead of leaving it switched off. If nothing is coming in at all, though, an ads problem is not an automation problem, and we will say so.
Does this work if my business is not in a major city?
Yes. We work remotely with businesses across the United States and nothing here depends on where you are, because carrier registration and the platform are national. If anything the advantage is bigger in a smaller market, where being the one who replies in a minute stands out more.
